About the Role
A fast‑growing fintech start‑up is seeking an experienced Part‑Time HR Consultant to build and manage core HR foundations. Working three flexible days per week, you'll oversee contracts, onboarding, policy development, HR systems, and day‑to‑day people support. This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, structure‑building, and partnering closely with founders in a scaling environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Compliance
* Draft and manage employment contracts, contractor agreements, and HR documentation.
* Develop HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks aligned with Australian legislation.
* Ensure compliance with Fair Work, WHS, and regulatory requirements.
**Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle****
* Create and run a structured onboarding process.
* Manage probation, performance documentation, and offboarding.
* Build templates, checklists, and workflows for consistency.
HR Systems & Processes
* Source and recommend an HRIS suitable for a growing fintech.
* Implement HR systems and set up workflows for leave, performance, and documentation.
* Maintain accurate employee records and reporting.
People Support
* Provide day‑to‑day HR advice to founders and managers.
* Support performance management, employee relations, and workforce planning.
* Assist with recruitment and role scoping when required.
Culture & Engagement
* Support values, engagement initiatives, and internal communication.
* Help shape a positive, inclusive, high‑performance culture.
Skills & Experience
Essential
* 5+ years in HR generalist, HRBP, or people operations roles.
* Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and HR compliance.
* Experience writing policies, contracts, and HR documentation.
* Proven ability to implement or optimise HR systems.
* Comfortable working autonomously in small or fast‑paced environments.
* Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
**Desirable****
* Experience in fintech, financial services, or regulated industries

* Exposure to recruitment and culture initiatives.
Qualifications
* Degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field.
* Additional HR certifications (AHRI, ER/IR training) beneficial.
