Project and Events Officer

Organization: The University of Queensland

Position Type: Full-time fixed-term through to October 2026

Location: Herston Campus

Salary: $82,133.76 - $91,295.50 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5)

About This Opportunity

The Project and Events Officer will coordinate the delivery of the CRE RESPOND Education Program and support research projects through planning, stakeholder engagement, communication, project documentation, and event management. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of education events, research initiatives, and related activities in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and support the delivery of CRE RESPOND Education events, including planning, communication, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Prepare content for newsletters, websites, and social media channels; manage event videos and communications.
- Provide project administration, including data management, reporting, and committee support.
- Assist with financial coordination, including hospitality, travel, and budget planning for events.

About You

We are seeking an adaptable and detail-oriented skilled with excellent coordination, administrative, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will:

- Hold a relevant degree or diploma, or equivalent experience in project/event coordination
- Have experience supporting events and administration in a research or university environment
- Be highly proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Teams, Vision6, and Drupal desirable
- Demonstrate strong project management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities
- Possess excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.

You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
