Assistant Accountant
Finance Team | Henderson, WA
We are seeking a capable and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with the Senior Accountant, supporting the delivery of timely, accurate and commercially useful financial information across the business.

About the Role
As Assistant Accountant, you will support the Senior Accountant across a broad range of financial and management accounting activities, including:
* Month‐end close processes, journals and balance sheet reconciliation
* Supporting transactional finance team with accounting support across accounts payable and receivable.
* Using AI tools to assist with analysis, reconciliations and research.
* Automating repetitive or manual finance tasks the team are engaged in via AI integration.
* Maintaining the fixed asset register and supporting depreciation and disposals
* Assisting with management reporting, variance analysis and engagement of stakeholders.
* Assisting with statutory reporting, audits and compliance requirements
* Ad‐hoc financial analysis and reporting to support operational and commercial decisions
* Assist with BAS,PAYG, FBT preparation and lodgment
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting
You will gain exposure to various stakeholders in the business whilst developing strong technical, analytical and commercial skills.
About You
We are looking for someone who is AI‐native in practice, not just curious in theory.
By AI‐native, we mean you are already incorporating modern tools into your day‐to‐day finance workflow to work more efficiently and accurately.
You do not need to be an expert - but you should be comfortable explaining how and where you are using AI today to be more effective in a finance role.
Along with this, you will ideally have:
* A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Information Technology or a related discipline
* Progress towards, or intention to commence, CA or CPA qualification
* 2–3 years' experience in an assistant accountant or similar finance role
* Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work
* Good technology skills and in particular utilising AI tools and Excel with a willingness to learn financial systems
* A proactive mindset - you look for answers, improvements and efficiencies
* The ability to communicate clearly with both finance and non‐finance stakeholders
