Volunteer Retail Assistant – support store operations in Salvos Stores, The Salvation Army.
About the Role
As a Volunteer Retail Assistant you will assist the team in everyday shop activities, helping to raise funds for life‐changing programs and ensuring a positive customer experience. This is a volunteer position and will not provide remuneration.
What You'll Be Doing
* Greet customers warmly and create a friendly shopping environment.
* Answer questions and guide customers to find products.
* Assist in receiving donated goods, handling them in accordance with Donor Care procedures.
* Assess donated items for condition, function and suitability, and accurately price them for sale.
* Place priced items on the sales floor, maintaining neat and organized displays and visual merchandising standards.
* Clean merchandise, the sales floor and staff areas to keep a tidy, safe environment.
* Follow waste‐management guidelines, handling all waste appropriately.
* Adhere to safety practices to ensure a safe environment for customers, visitors and staff.
* Maintain awareness of health and safety responsibilities for yourself and others.

Requirements
Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older.
