Medical Laboratory Assistant Role
To contribute to a high-quality pathology service, we are seeking Medical Laboratory Assistants to perform pathology specimen reception duties, including receiving and trialing of specimens, patient registration and request entry, specimen processing and preparation for transport or delivery to laboratories.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the smooth running of the laboratory environment by performing pathology specimen reception duties.
* Receive and trial specimens, ensuring they are accurately processed and prepared for diagnostic testing.
* Manage tasks in a demanding environment with competing priorities and time constraints.
Requirements
* Certificate III in Pathology Assistance or equivalent experience in a laboratory setting.
* Effective communication skills to work with colleagues and customers.
* Proficient computer skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
* Understanding of confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information.
