About the Role
Operating within The Faculty of Theology & Philosophy, the Associate Dean (Research) supports the Executive Dean and faculty executive team to provide high-level academic leadership across both Schools, the Research Institute and Centres.
The position will develop and implement a university-wide research strategy focused on high-quality, high-impact, and innovative research.
The role requires a strategic vision for research, an active research program, and engagement with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities
Work with the Executive Dean, National Heads of School and Institute and Centre Directors to set strategic faculty research directions and implement strategies to reach research targets.
Maintain a high-quality, active research program in a relevant Faculty discipline.
Develop and promote a cohesive strategy to attract high-quality higher degree by research students, ensuring timely completion.
Nurture strategic partnerships with international partners and other key external stakeholders.
Advocate and embed a research-focused culture across faculty staff and students.
Location & Term Full time continuing academic (Associate Professor / Professor) role in either the School of Theology or Philosophy, with one renewable 3-year term as Associate Dean (Research).
Preferably based at the North Sydney or Strathfield campus, with hybrid flexibility where required.
What We Offer
Competitive remuneration : total package valued at $202,272 – $222,654 pro-rata per annum (Academic Level D) or $260,037 (Academic Level E) including salary component and employer superannuation contributions.
17 % employer superannuation contributions for eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
Annual leave loading equivalent to 17.5 % of four weeks' salary, pro-rated.
