The successful candidate will be part of the Molecular Ecology, Evolution, and Phylogenetics Lab, led by Professor Simon Ho and Professor Nathan Lo. The position is funded by the Australian Research Council Discovery Project "The biological drivers of evolutionary rate variation" and involves collaboration with colleagues at the Botanic Gardens of Sydney.Your key responsibilities will be to:lead research projects on rates of evolution in flowering plantsanalyse large genomic data sets from flowering plants to address key questions in evolutionary biologywork effectively as part of a team and collaborate with external researcherspresent the results of the research at seminars and conferenceswrite papers for publication in peer-reviewed journalsThe School of Life and Environmental Sciences (SOLES) is a large and research-active school with expertise in ecology, evolutionary biology, conservation, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and agriculture.
