Support Young People in Need
The Townsville Youth Foyer is a safe and supportive environment for young people aged 16-25 to stay up to 24 months while working towards their goals in education, employment, health, social connections, civic participation, and housing.
This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by supporting them in achieving their full potential. As a Youth Connect Worker, you will be part of a team that delivers integrated learning and accommodation programs to at-risk youth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the team in delivering Youth Foyer programs.
* Provide mentoring and support to young people using the Advantage Thinking Framework.
* Offer after-hours health and wellbeing support to residents.
* Create a welcoming and inclusive environment at The Foyer.
* Assist other team members with relief duties and provide support with events and group activities.
Requirements:
* Experience working with young people and/or homelessness.
* Understanding of challenges faced by young people regarding housing in Townsville.
* Ability to build strong relationships with young people and key stakeholders.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Willingness to work weekends and after hours on a rostered basis.
