My client is a fast-growing boutique real estate financier and investor with a presence in Melbourne & Sydney. They invest across the capital structure, focusing on development capital, including senior and mezzanine debt, preferred equity, and direct equity. They finance/invest in projects across all sectors - residential, commercial, retail, industrial, hotel, aged care, etc.
They plan to quadruple in FUM size in the next 5 years. In line with their growth plans, a newly created position has opened up for an experienced Real Estate Finance Analyst to join their growing investment team in Melbourne.
Upon successful hire, you will be involved in the assessment, execution and project management of property transactions - from debt to equity. You will also be involved in investment monitoring, portfolio management and reporting.
**Upon successful hire, you will be responsible for**:
- Maintain relationships with a portfolio of clients (corporate and private), focusing on building and sustaining deep customer relationships
- Liaise with clients, third parties and key stakeholders throughout the credit process of a deal
- Utilise industry and local market insights to effectively communicate products and services to clients
- Identify and implement improvements relating to internal processes
- In conjunction with internal stakeholders and external legal advisers, prepare and document terms and conditions of offer letters
- Draft information memorandums and internal credit papers for approval and present overview to investment committee or institutional or private investors as required
- Ensure effective management of the transaction process, including internal and external stakeholders, to meet agreed timeframes
- Assimilate complex information to enhance investment opportunities by effectively communicating the strengths of each deal while recognising risk and demonstrating how this risk has been mitigated
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders throughout the transaction process, assisting with deal execution and due diligence to ensure that all conditions precedents (CPs) are satisfied
- Professionally and efficiently address concerns or queries raised by clients, third parties and key stakeholders; promptly escalate issues to senior team members as required
- Manage and mitigate risk through effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Modelling transactions, assisting in structuring and pricing loan products, and responding quickly to new business inquiries
- 1-2 years experience in banking or funds management with a property sector focus
- High level of analysis and critical thinking skills, as well as attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
- Strong problem solving with the ability to identify issues and develop solutions - recognise the importance of a systematic approach to problem-solving
- Strong teamwork philosophy
- Understanding and interest in the Property industry
- Tertiary qualification in Construction/Commerce/Law/Finance/Property or similar
