Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Emergency and Protective Service’s person. This role will see you become an integral part of team, living and working residentially with a working roster of 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off - 9 hour shift

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Emergency and Protective Services Advisor to join the Mount Isa Mines HSEC team. In this leadership position, you will oversee security and emergency response capability across site, guiding the business to maintain effective, practical and resilient systems in emergency response and protective services. Reporting to the Superintendent of Safety, Risk and Emergency, you will provide strategic and operational direction on all Emergency Response, Protective Services, Security, Site Access functions, ensuring our operations are prepared for, and able to effectively manage, emergency situations. You will also be responsible for maintaining strong communication with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation and Queensland Government Emergency Services and Security providers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Supporting all departments in preparing for, responding to and recovering from emergency events.Developing, reviewing and updating emergency response strategies, plans and procedures.Delivering coaching, training and guidance to key personnel to build emergency response capability.Monitoring compliance with emergency response plans and contributing to investigations where required.Ensuring alignment with organisational policies, procedures and legislative requirements within your area of responsibility.Maintain effective site access and security provisions across the business
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
Qualifications and extensive experience in emergency response, security, health and safety, risk management, auditing or related fields.Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice (highly regarded).Experience working with Safety Management Systems and incident recording/investigation capability in developing and managing stakeholder and customer relationships to achieve operational outcomes.Previous exposure to mining or processing environments (desirable).A strong customer focus, exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, outcomes?driven approach.
