The Opportunity
The Pharmacy Ward Distribution Coordinator is responsible for distributing hospital pharmaceutical products to Hospital Services throughout Victoria. The pharmacy distribution service operates across 4 hospital health sites, located at various Alfred Health sites in Prahran, Sandringham, Caulfield, and Carlton.
What you will do
* Picking/packing and distributing pharmaceuticals to various locations within hospitals
* Liaise with the Hospital pharmacy distribution manager regarding any stock matters
* Maintain accurate placement of goods received in imprest locations including refrigerated items
* Rotate stock, monitor expiry dates and stock levels of all imprest stock in ward and pharmacy areas
* Maintain clean and orderly pharmaceutical storage
* Ensure appropriate signage e.g., out of stock notices and shelf talkers are in place on imprest
* Monitor storage condition of pharmaceuticals in wards and elevate any issues to the distribution manager
* Ensure records are maintained according to local standard operating procedures
* Ensure all documentation filing including medicines related records is kept up to date and archived as necessary, following legal requirements for the retention of pharmaceutical and other records
* Participate in continuous improvement activities, particularly relating to the Key Performance Indicators of the department
* Prepare and organise staff rosters and staff timesheets
* Complete all mandatory training and credentialing required for the position
* Identify gaps in training and/or education and bring to the attention of the Hospital Pharmacy Distribution Manager
* Perform other duties as delegated by the Hospital Pharmacy Distribution Manager
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff within and outside the department
* Promote pharmacy teamwork by building effective workplace relationships
* Comply with the actions set out in the relevant section(s) of EBOS and Alfred Health Hospital Services the OHS Roles and Responsibilities Guideline

* Flexibility and willingness to adapt to change in a fast‐paced environment
* Hospital pharmacy experience is desirable
Travel to and from campuses and a current driver's licence is required for this position.
