About the Role
Join our team as a Counsellor/Advocate in the South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA) team on a full time ongoing basis. This position will work across the outer south region and is open to Social Work and Psychology disciplines.
Responsibilities
* Provide counselling and therapeutic interventions to people who have experienced sexual assault and/or family violence.
* Undertake evidence‐based and trauma‐focused assessments, case formulation, goal setting, counselling, and crisis response.
* Work collaboratively with client and key agencies to advocate for, assess and respond to identified risk.
* Contribute to After‐Hours rosters.
Qualifications
You are a skilled Social Worker or Psychologist with demonstrated clinical experience supporting adults who have experienced complex trauma related to sexual assault and/or family violence. You bring well‐developed crisis intervention skills, enabling you to provide compassionate, effective support to people in distress. With experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and external agencies, you are committed to enhancing the wellbeing and safety of your clients. You possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, building trust and rapport with both colleagues and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes.
