Role purpose
The key purpose of the Delivery Manager - Capital Planning & Delivery is to ensure delivery of all allocated projects nationally, on time, within budget and in line with Vicinity's risk and compliance procedures. This role will be responsible for the development of specific tenders, review design and costs to ensure they meet Vicinity standards, negotiate pricing and appointment of suppliers and contractors, management of all financials and all project reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day project management success of all capital delivery phases including,
but not limited to, pre-construction cost estimates, planning and design schematics,
construction documentation, permitting procedures and approval tracking, project scheduling,
construction administration and construction management.
- Collaborate with regional and local Operational Management teams on due diligence to verify
existing conditions, complete feasibility studies, identify applicable CAPEX work scopes,
produce requests for proposals to obtain cost estimates and bids.
- Provide direction to architect and engineer and contractors, including design, project
management, scheduling and coordination if necessary, and assist in resolving potential
discrepancies between the multiple disciplines.
- Design and technical plan review of architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and vertical
transportation drawings. Interface with suppliers and architects to review, comment and
approve construction drawings ensuring owners responsibilities. Ensure compliance where
owners work requires interface with tenant lease requirements. Collaborate with tenants when
owners work affects existing tenants.
- Develop an understanding of all mall systems, existing and proposed, and understand the
lifecycle for replacement, including Electrical infrastructure, HVAC systems, Vertical
Transportation, Fire Life Safety, Data backbones etc.
- Efficiently track and/or manage the scheduling of CAPEX project planning and permit
submissions to all applicable local jurisdictional agencies.
- Attend recurring action/asset meetings to ensure awareness of all aspects of the shopping
centre, especially on issues that pertain to capital delivery programs.
- Collaborate with the internal design management group to prepare design briefs to align with
budgeted CAPEX and Centre Transformational projects.
- Visit the shopping centres on a regular basis to monitor progress of any CAPEX work and
promote methods to expedite the construction process wherever possible.
- Supervise the schedule of construction to ensure they complete on or before the agreed
contract schedule. Conduct field inspections and meetings with architects, contractors and
building inspectors, where necessary.
- Perform detailed punch list inspections throughout the construction of each project and
promptly issue a final written copy to the contractor upon the completion of each project.
- Ensure compliance of all close-out documentation in accordance with contract terms.
- Consistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanour when interacting with business
partners and customers.

What will you bring?
You will be an experienced Project Manager, Construction Manager and/or experience within an Architectural and/or Construction Management setting with demonstrated knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical & Fire Life Safety building infrastructure systems, and general knowledge & understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Protection & Fire Alarm systems/codes as well as DDA code. Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or equivalent will be highly regarded.
