APS 5 - Coordinator, Ask a Librarian

Overview
The National Library of Australia is seeking to fill the integral ongoing role of Coordinator, Ask a Librarian (APS 5) in the Reader Services Section in the Engagement Branch.
This role is critical to the delivery of high-quality and client-centred reference services. It is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the "Ask a Librarian" telephone and online reference service alongside the RefTracker enquiry management system.
Responsibilities
* Lead a small team responsible for the "Ask a Librarian" service, providing support, guidance and training to the wider cohort of Library staff delivering reference services and using the RefTracker system.
* Oversee the telephone and online reference service operation.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
* Contribute ideas and participate in implementation of service improvement initiatives and change in the workplace.
* Provide specialist expertise and technical knowledge across a range of programs, activities and systems, including statistical and administrative reporting and service evaluation.
* Support the Library's reference services in the Reading Rooms and through online and phone reference channels.
* Be involved in developing Learning Programs and a range of web content including Research Guides.
Qualifications
* Technical capabilities with knowledge and experience in the administration of discovery services or enquiry management systems desirable.
* Solid technical capabilities; transferable skills recognised.
* Qualifications or equivalent experience in Information Management, Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or related fields desirable.
Work conditions
This role includes regular evening and weekend work undertaken during the Library's advertised reading room opening hours.
