Service Pit & Pipe Installer

Position Summary
Proline is seeking an experienced and reliable Service Pit & Pipe Installer to join our civil construction team. This role is hands-on and critical to the delivery of underground services across our projects.
You will be responsible for installing power, NBN and associated service infrastructure to a high standard, working closely with operators, supervisors and the wider crew to deliver safe, efficient and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
* Install underground services including:
* Power mains and service connections
* NBN
* Open trench for gas installation
* Install service pits, junctions, risers and associated infrastructure
* Read and interpret construction drawings, set-out information and levels
* Carry out trench preparation including:
* Bedding
* Pipe laying
* Backfilling and compaction
* Ensure correct grades, alignment and levels are achieved at all times
* Work alongside and with excavator operators to safely and efficiently install services
* Assist with testing and commissioning of services (pressure testing, inspections, etc.)
* Identify and communicate any issues, clashes or required variations early
* Maintain a clean, organised and compliant worksite
Safety & Compliance
* Follow all Proline safety procedures, SWMS and site requirements
* Maintain strong awareness of underground services (DBYD) and exclusion zones
* Report hazards, incidents and near misses immediately
* Ensure trench safety and compliance at all times
* Wear and maintain appropriate PPE
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in civil construction, specifically underground services
* Strong understanding of pit & pipe installation methods and standards
* Ability to read and work from plans and levels
* Experience working in and around trenches and excavation works
* Ability to work effectively within a crew environment
* Excavator experience.
Tickets & Qualifications
Required:
* White Card (Construction Induction)
* Excavator /skid steer tickets
* Confined Space Entry
* Working in Trenches / Shoring
* MR/HR Driver’s Licence
Desirable:
* First Aid
* Police clearance (State & Federal)

Work Hours
· Mon-Fri 38 hr week
Remuneration
· Pay rate is between $35 -$40 per hr depending on experience Overtime available.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 per week
Work Location: On the road
