UQ Business School based in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) Full-time (100%), permanent position Base salary will be in the range $168,593.23 - $185,573.62 17% Superannuation (Academic Level D) Based at our St Lucia Campus About This Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management in International Business with a Ph.D in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management, aligned to the international business field, to consistently demonstrate excellence in research, teaching, and service and engagement. At this level, you will be expected to undertake leadership roles and have a strong record of supervising Higher Degree by Research students successfully to completion as principal supervisor. As the supply chain management area is being developed in the UQ Business School, at the postgraduate level, there is opportunity to shape this field of study. Key responsibilities will include: Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules. Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilise best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. About You You should possess a Ph.D in Supply Chain Management or a closely related discipline such as Operations Management. In addition, you will demonstrate: Expert knowledge in supply chain management and/or operations management aligned with the international business field. An established track record of publishing in leading and premier refereed journals. Demonstrated service to domestic or international academic associations, journals and professional bodies. Experience in liaising and collaborating with external agencies to develop co-operative research initiatives. Demonstrated ability to obtain competitive research grant funding. A high-quality teaching track record at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as evidenced by teaching performance metrics and the ability to lead doctoral seminars. The ability to support and mentor junior faculty. Ability to develop innovative courses or programs in supply chain management at undergraduate level, and/or postgraduate level, and/or deliver executive education in these fields. Supervision of honours and higher degree students, to successful completion. Evidence of an ability to enhance linkages with the local community, the larger business community and professional associations. High-level communication and inter-personal skills. High personal work ethic to complete tasks in a timely manner. Experience in innovative modes of teaching.
