We are seeking a passionate Aboriginal Peer Support Worker to join our Social Services Team.
The role of Peer Support Worker is to support peers to achieve a satisfactory and meaningful lifestyle through facilitating group activities and other key responsibilities.
These include :
Build trusting relationships with clients through shared lived experience and mutual respect.
Provide emotional support encouragement and practical assistance to individuals.
Facilitate peer-led groups workshops or activities that promote wellbeing and recovery.
Assist clients in navigating mental health services housing employment and other supports.
Advocate for client needs and rights within service systems.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and team meetings.
Uphold confidentiality boundaries and ethical standards at all times.
Essential Criteria
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent under Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act.
Maintain the highest standards of ethics and professional conduct and treat all clients with dignity integrity and respect
Current drivers license
Current National Federal Police Certificate and Working with Children Check or ability to obtain
