**THE POSITION**
Our client is seeking multiple experienced General Medicine Registrars for their busy Department.
The General Medicine Registrars are responsible for providing high level of medical care to patients in the Department of Medicine under the supervision and guidance of consultant medical staff.
Our Client's General Medicine Department has eight teams that admit and manage patients daily, you will either be a part of the medical team or assisting in admitting patients into General Medicine or its medical specialities which include respiratory, cardiology, and aged care, and will be supported by knowledgeable consultants.
**THE HOSPITAL**
Owned by one of Australia's largest Private Health Care operators, this hospital has approximately 700 beds.
Treating more than 73,000 patients annually, this hospital offers a range of medical and surgical services including maternity services, neonatal and paediatric services, aged care and rehabilitation.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACTIVITIES AND DUTIES**
- Provide medical care under the supervision and direction of senior medical staff.
- Document relevant clinical information and in-patient charts accurately, concisely, and legibly.
- Ensure discharge summaries and other correspondence are completed with minimum delay and that all such correspondence is complete prior to leaving the unit.
- Conduct interviews, examinations and the identification of clinical problems including day-to-day review of patients.
- Provide support for junior and senior medical staff as required.
- Assist with case presentations at teaching meetings where necessary.
- Participate in clinical meetings undertaken within the appropriate clinical unit.
- Participate in after-hours shift roster as required by the Clinical Director, Department of Medicine.
- Assist with teaching junior medical staff and including clinical education and support.
- Participate in continual professional development and medical education.
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Full registration, or eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with APRHA.
- Standard Pathway (AMC Part 1 complete), and Competent Authority IMG's welcome.
- Current experience relevant to the position of General Medicine Registrar.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends, nights, and public holidays.
- Evidence of involvement in continuing professional development.
- Proven reliability in work within personal level of expertise and seeking assistance as needed from senior staff.
- Demonstrated interest in assisting interns and residents to extend their clinical skills and knowledge.
