Role Overview
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house and operational activities to ensure smooth daily operations, excellent customer service, and business profitability. This role requires strong leadership, organisation, and the ability to manage staff, systems, and customer experience effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service
* Oversee daily restaurant operations and service standards
* Ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and kitchen teams
* Handle customer feedback, complaints, and service recovery professionally
* Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and ambience of the restaurant
Staff Management
* Recruit, train, and supervise staff
* Prepare rosters, manage attendance, and approve shift changes
* Lead by example and maintain professional conduct at all times
* Conduct performance reviews and address staff issues or misconduct
Administration & Systems
* Manage POS systems, bookings, and cash handling
* Ensure accurate daily cash-ups and reporting
* Monitor stock levels, place orders, and control costs
* Maintain records including incident reports, training, and compliance
Compliance & Safety
* Ensure compliance with food safety, RSA, WHS, and company policies
* Conduct staff inductions and enforce safety procedures
* Manage incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Financial & Business Performance
* Monitor sales, labour costs, and KPIs
* Implement strategies to improve revenue and customer satisfaction
* Support promotions, menu launches, and operational improvements
Skills & Requirements
* Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or Supervisor
* Strong leadership and people-management skills
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Knowledge of POS systems, rostering, and compliance standards
* High level of professionalism and accountability
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $57,092.81 – $86,256.21 per year
Expected hours: 42 per week
