You'll be joining the property and facilities management team, which acts as the strategic heart of the organisation; optimising assets, managing facilities, and supporting projects that enhance the city's reputation as a world-class destination.
Your new role
In this pivotal position, you'll be part of a progressive local government authority that manages a diverse property portfolio and plays a key role in shaping a sustainable, world-class city. The role sits within the property and facilities management team, which ensures that all council-owned buildings and leased sites are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose. You'll work in a fast-paced, multi-site environment where your expertise will directly impact community spaces and essential services.
* Portfolio Management: Oversee day-to-day facilities operations across multiple community-facing sites, including libraries, recreation facilities, and leased properties.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure statutory obligations under the Building Code of Australia are met and maintain Occupational Health and Safety standards.
* Maintenance Coordination: Manage building repairs, maintenance schedules, and quality assurance of cleaning standards.
* Contract & Procurement Oversight: Undertake procurement activities and monitor contractor performance to ensure service delivery meets contractual obligations.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external contractors, and community stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience managing multiple sites and facilities.
* Strong time management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Tertiary qualification in facilities management or related field.
* High-level communication and problem-solving ability.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD desirable.
* Mandatory: Victorian Driving Licence and Working With Children Check.
