Position: Senior Cyber Security Analyst – Information Technology Services (ITS).
Type: Full-time (100%) fixed‐term through February2028. Salary: $104,616–$113,920+17% super (HEW Level7). Location: StLucia campus.
As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst within ITS, you will support and strengthen UQ's cyber security capabilities within a high‐performing Cyber Security Operations Centre. You will help protect a diverse and complex digital ecosystem supporting world‐class research, teaching and enterprise systems. Key responsibilities
* Support detection, analysis and response to cyber security incidents across the University environment.
* Provide expert advice and consultation on cyber security risks and controls to stakeholders across diverse business and technical teams.
* Design and implement operational security solutions, ensuring robust documentation and effective change coordination.
* Promote cyber security awareness and best practice aligned with University policies and standards.
Qualifications and experience
* Qualifications in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience applying information security policies, standards, and frameworks in a workplace setting.
* Expertise in multiple domains such as endpoint, email, cloud or network security, digital forensics, vulnerability management, or SIEM platforms.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving capabilities with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical and user documentation.
* Well‐developed interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
* Commitment to continuous learning, innovation and improving security outcomes.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast‐paced operational environment.
