We practice a strength-based approach,creating the spaceto individualiseeach young person's learning, address their widerneeds andcreateanenvironment where they can reach their full potential.Each classroom isallocatedayouth worker and an education support specialist who will work alongside you.Our classes are small, capped at 18 students, creating more time for one-to-one learning and support.To support your classroom work, each Friday is a designated planning day.
Many of the young people who attendPraceCollege face complex challenges thatimpacttheir ability to engageinlearning, and many have previously disengaged from mainstream education.We have an establishedwellbeing teamwhosupportour students,andyour capacity to implement trauma-informed practice, restorative justice principles and strategies with young people,will bean asset to our team.

About you
You are a motivated individual with well-developed teaching skills, a strong sense of purpose and experience working with a diverse student cohort.
Required for the role
Bachelor of Education or equivalent
Full VIT Registration
Extensive experience in trauma-informed practice
Experience teaching applied and/or integrated curriculum, and/or delivery of VCE Vocational Major and the Victorian Pathways Certificate (orotherrelated curriculum, such as VCA)
Highly regarded
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Masters in a complementary discipline such as Special Education, Psychology, Social Work
Key selection criteria
Criteria 1
Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide educational interventions for young people to enable them to develop learning for wellbeing and achieve educational success.
Criteria 2
Evidence of well-developed skills in teaching and learning, including the ability to select and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to a diverse learner population.
Criteria 3
Demonstrated capacity to implement trauma-informed practice, restorative justice principles and strategies with young people who may have existing barriers to education, including young people who identify as LGBTQIA+, from diverse cultural backgrounds, with learning disabilities, social emotionalchallengesand/or substance abuse.
Criteria 4
Extensive experience in successfully developing and delivering an engaging and integrated curriculum covering all strands of the curriculum, with the ability to apply this to the VCEVM and VPC certificates.
Criteria 5
Highly developed administrative and organisational skills, including a capacity to meet requirements of the relevant accredited courses, VCAA and VRQA school registration and VCE VM and VPC registration compliance requirements.
Criteria 6
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills thatdemonstratea capacity to effectively engage with staff, students, families, and support workers.
