Salary: $110,110 - $114,980 + SUPER + NFP Salary Packaging

Locations: Wangaratta, VIC 3677; Wodonga, VIC 3690; Ovens Murray

Employment type: Permanent full time.

About The Role

Family Services Team Leader forms part of a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified and experienced staff from a range of professional backgrounds. The principal role of the Team Leader is to oversee the day‐to‐day management of various programs which include BAUBAH, Aboriginal Family Preservation and Reunification Response Program providing intensive support, and to guide, supervise and support case managers in the delivery of the service. In addition, the Team Leader has a key role in providing culturally safe support, guidance and mentoring to case managers in the Family Services programs.

About You
* Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA's vision and purpose.
* Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people.
* A well‐developed understanding of the impact of colonisation, intergenerational trauma and other issues on Aboriginal families, children, and young people, particularly those who are involved with Child Protection.
* Ability to apply evidence informed practice approaches including Cultural and Common Elements.
* Strong leadership skills and ability to developed strong professional relationships.
Desirable
* Relevant qualification in social work, youth work, psychology or a related discipline and have at least three years' experience in the child and family services system. Experience in Leadership and managing teams.
* Experience working in an ACCO and/or outreach case management supports and ability to work flexible hours e.g. out of hours and on weekends as required by the role.
Requirements
* Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
