About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team in North Hobart, Australia. As a Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and safeguarding the company's interests.
* Provide legal advice and counsel to the organization on a wide range of matters, including contracts, agreements, policies, and regulatory compliance.
* Review, draft, and negotiate legal documents, contracts, and agreements to protect the company's interests.
* Conduct legal research and analysis to stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
* Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with legal requirements and mitigate potential risks.
* Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and dispute resolutions as needed.
* Provide training and guidance to employees on legal matters and compliance issues.
* Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations, and advise the organization accordingly.
* Juris Doctor degree or equivalent from an accredited law school.
* Valid license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
* Extensive knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal principles.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
* Proficiency in legal research and the use of legal databases and resources.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Familiarity with legal domains such as corporate law, intellectual property law, or other relevant areas is preferred.
