Overview
As the Executive Director, Technical Services, you will be responsible for leading a geographically dispersed team to deliver complex projects in Queensland. This will include abandoned mine remediation and recommercialisation programs, as well as management of state-owned non-commercial water assets.
Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, Georesources division, you will provide strategic advice to government staff on sensitive issues and collaborate across the public sector and industry to drive positive outcomes for all Queenslanders.
With a focus on project management, economic feasibility, and commercial probity, you will play a critical role in ensuring public safety through the effective management of Queensland's abandoned mines program, while fostering economically attractive investment opportunities that benefit all Queenslanders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver complex mining, petroleum and gas projects
* Manage abandoned mine remediation and recommercialisation programs
* Oversee management of state-owned non-commercial water assets
* Provide strategic advice to government staff on sensitive issues
* Collaborate across the public sector and industry to drive positive outcomes
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong project management experience in a resource sector or state-owned asset environment
* Understanding of economic feasibility of resource sector or state-owned asset operations
* Experience navigating complex commercial, probity, governance and legal frameworks
* Experience leading remote, dispersed technical experts to deliver broad works/programs and capital expenditure
* Current open C class driver licence
