Based in Perth with occasional site travel, this newly created Field Services Lead role manages our mining-based field technician team, ensuring the safe, high-quality deployment and support of RaptorTech systems across mine sites. The position supports our growing workforce, assists on‐site teams in Australia and overseas, and drives the ongoing development of our technician group.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Field Services Lead, you will be accountable for:
* Ensuring safe and compliant execution of all site work
* Mentoring and developing a high‐performing technician workforce
* Building structured training pathways and career progression into FIFO field roles
* Planning and coordinating field resourcing across projects and BAU support
* Maintaining field tooling, assets, and critical spares
* Leading technician workforce through mining field deployments, commissioning, and preventative maintenance
* Ensuring efficient and compliant use of ERP systems and workflows
* Driving continuous improvement across field systems and processes
You'll work closely with Product Support, Customer Success, R&D, Procurement, and Project Teams to ensure smooth delivery from project deployment through to ongoing operational support.
This is a leadership role that combines operational accountability with people development and ownership of safety culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Operations Leadership
* Lead technicians through project deployments, commissioning, fault response, and BAU support
* Travel to the site to mentor technicians, support complex deployments, and provide leave cover
* Maintain consistent quality, safety, and professionalism across all field activities
* Responsibility for all network execution, including assembly, deployment, commissioning and maintenance tasks
Safety & Compliance
* Own field safety systems, including JHAs, SWMS, permits, and client compliance
* Ensure all technicians hold required certifications and competencies
* Act as the accountable leader for safe work execution in the field
Workforce Development
* Recruit, onboard, and develop field technicians
* Build structured competency frameworks and training pathways
* Identify and transition high‐potential candidates into FIFO roles
* Mentor senior technicians to uplift overall team capability
* Represent RaptorTech at industry events and networking forums
Project Deployment & Resourcing
* Plan and allocate field resources to meet project and BAU demands
* Coordinate with project teams, Network, and Product Support for seamless execution
Asset & Spares Management
* Ensure tools, equipment, and assets are maintained and available
* Manage critical spares in partnership with Procurement
* Maintain workflow and ticket compliance standards
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* A trade or technical background in Auto Electrical, Electrical, Telecommunications, or Instrumentation
* Strong experience leading field teams in mining, construction, or industrial environments
* Demonstrated safety leadership and hands‐on site compliance management
* Proven ability to mentor and develop technicians
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance operational delivery with people leadership
* Excellent communication skills across technical and non‐technical stakeholders
* A practical, improvement‐focused, customer‐oriented mindset
* You are comfortable being accountable. You lead from the front. You build capability in others.
DESIRABLE
* Knowledge of FIFO workforce environments
* Exposure to mining communications networks, telemetry systems, IoT devices, or industrial technology deployments
