Senior Advisor
Operations Support, National Service Delivery, Wellington
Two 12‐month Fixed‐Term opportunities, Full‐Time.

We have an opportunity for two experienced Senior Advisors to join our Operations Support team within National Service Delivery (NSD). You will join a fast‐paced team that supports the frontline to deliver essential Ministry of Justice services. No two days will be the same, with a mix of business‐as‐usual service improvements, urgent tasks, and involvement in exciting and innovative programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Excellent stakeholder management skills – able to prioritise requests across functions, navigate and influence a wide range of stakeholder relationships.
* Effective delivery of projects, including defining a business problem, planning and delivering an effective solution in a time‐pressured environment.
* Provide timely and expert advice on proposed legislative changes and the expected operational impacts on behalf of all NSD business units.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with NSD leadership team, OSD business groups, Office of the Chief Operating Officer, and other groups across the Ministry (e.g. Policy Group).
* Collaborate on high‐quality briefing papers and memorandums for senior leadership and Ministers to support decision‐making.
* Support a busy and fast‐paced legislative work programme, which may include supporting or leading implementation projects to ensure timely and effective delivery of the government's law and order initiatives.
* Provide peer‐to‐peer support and mentoring to other team members.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
* Proven experience being adaptable in a fast‐paced environment and thriving in situations of ambiguity.
* Ability to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including legislation, financial, numerical and business information.
* Ability to self‐manage and prioritise a busy workload and work effectively to meet agreed deadlines.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in qualitative and quantitative analysis.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
* Understanding and meeting customers' and the public's expectations.
* Experience delivering projects or significant pieces of work.
* Strong understanding of the machinery of government.
* Understanding and appreciation of cross‐cultural issues and concerns; knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific peoples' culture.

Utu ā‐tau / Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $99,208 and $127,683 based on skills and experience.
