About our role
Production Leading Hand – We are currently seeking an experienced individual who has extensive experience operating excavator and dozers to join our team at the Mt Holland Lithium Project on a 2:1 roster, approximately 105km south of Southern Cross. This is a large-scale, long-term operation offering stable production and strong job security. In this role, you will provide hands-on leadership to a skilled operating crew, setting the standard for safe, efficient production while maintaining a positive on-site culture.
Your Focus in this role
* Lead from the front, working on the tools alongside operators to deliver safe and consistent production
* Safe operation of excavator and dozers
* Coordinate daily load and haul activities to ensure targets are met efficiently
* Provide clear direction to operators on shift, setting expectations around safety, quality, and productivity
* Monitor equipment performance and operating practices, identifying opportunities to improve cycle times and efficiency
* Maintain high safety standards by actively managing risk, conducting pre-starts, and reinforcing site procedures
* Support and mentor operators, promoting skill development and strong teamwork on site
* Liaise closely with Supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth shift handovers and operational continuity
* Take ownership of your work area, ensuring housekeeping, standards and compliance are maintained at all times
What You'll Bring
* Extensive production excavator operating experience in open-cut mining, working directly within production and development crews
* Hands-on experience with selective mining methods in a hard-rock open-pit environment
* Solid, working knowledge of mining equipment, daily operating practices and site safety and compliance requirements
* Good understanding of WA DMIRS legislation, industry standards and on-the-ground WHS risk management
* Clear understanding of S26 statutory responsibilities and expectations around providing a safe work place
* Clear and effective communicator who leads by example and works closely with operators and supervisors on shift
* Proven ability to drive production on the ground, improve cycle times, and lift operational efficiency through practical decision-making
* A reliable, team-orientated attitude with clear communication skills
* High standards of machine care, including pre-starts, inspections and reporting of defects
