Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration Technician to join the Refrigeration Department. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa.
The Role
This position plays a key role in maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems to ensure reliable and efficient operations. Safety is paramount; the Technician demonstrates a commitment to safe work practices and compliance with all site procedures, ensuring that every task is performed with care, equipment, and the environment. Reporting to the Refrigeration Supervisor, the Technician will show sound decision‐making ability, effective communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines while working both in a team environment. This day shift position operates on a 4 days on/4 days off, 4 days on /2 days off schedule.
Key Responsibilities
* Installation, repair and maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration systems
* Responding to plant breakdowns with the ability to prioritise and effectively manage downtime to a minimum
* Always demonstrating a high standard of professional workmanship and discretionary effort
Required Skillset and Attributes
* Safety as a core belief with a solution‐seeking attitude
* Queensland restricted electrical workers licence
* Refrigeration Handling Licence
* Australian manual drivers licence
* Extensive experience with installation and maintenance of chillers and large DX plants, package and split systems, water coolers, ice machines and cold rooms, air driers and pressurisation units
* Demonstrated ability to adapt to new challenges, carry out responsibilities and continuously learn new technical skills
* Sound understanding of workplace Health, Safety and Environment requirements and safe work practices
