Youth Justice Caseworker – A Rewarding Career in Community Development
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Youth Justice Caseworker to join our team at the Albury Youth Justice Community Office. As a key member of our multi-disciplined team, you will play a vital role in reducing re-offending among young people, enhancing their functioning, and supporting their reintegration into their families and the community.
As a Youth Justice Caseworker, your primary responsibility will be to provide front-line services to young people, including detainees, youth justice conferencing clients, victims of crime, and court-mandated young people and their families. You will work collaboratively with other Youth Justice staff, government agencies, and non-government stakeholders to connect young people with appropriate services, monitor their progress, and ensure compliance with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake case management activities that target areas of need and risk to prevent re-offending.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement case plans, organize case conferences, and deliver offence-focused intervention programs.
* Provide clear and concise advice, briefings, reports, and written communication to internal and external stakeholders.
* Use structured screening and assessment tools to identify risks and needs, determine interventions, and monitor outcomes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date client data, information systems, and quality assurance frameworks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will require:
* Diploma or higher tertiary qualifications in social work, welfare, psychology, criminology, education, or a related field.
* Current NSW Working with Children Clearance.
* Current NSW Driver's Licence.
* A willingness and ability to travel across regional and rural areas to engage with clients.
