**About Our Role**:
- Casual production based opportunities with the home of the famous Chiko Roll
- Shift based positions - work across day / afternoon / night shifts on a Mon-Sun roster (with a focus on day & afternoon shift)
- Base hourly rates from $37.94 (incl. 25% casual loading + 15% afternoon shift allowance + 30% night shift allowance + OT (where applicable)
Multiple opportunities exist for casual Production Operators at Simplot Bathurst in support of manufacturing operations at our newly redeveloped food manufacturing facility.
Simplot Bathurst employs over 250 people and having been a part of the local community since 1926, continues to produce Edgell products, as well as products for Birds Eye and Chiko. An investment of $90 million has recently been completed at the site, transforming Simplot Bathurst into a frozen vegetable centre of excellence, enabling increased production capacity, and ultimately helping to boost local and export volumes.
**What You Will Do**:
Reporting to the Production Manager and working in a food processing environment, the Production Operator will support the processing of vegetable & snack lines (incl. broccoli, cauliflower, corn, Chiko etc) - duties will include;
- Inspection, grading & preparation of incoming raw material
- Manual handling of ingredients used in the production process
- Safe operations of fixed plant processing & high speed packaging equipment
- Accurately complete daily shift logs / associated paperwork
- Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities
- Contribute to site safety & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) activities
**About You**:
- Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace
- Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing, process or mechanical related role will be highly regarded
- Hold a problem solving mindset
- Ability to commit to 8 hour shifts (day/night/afternoon) across a 7 day Mon-Sun roster (with a focus on day & afternoon shift)
- Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures (advantageous)
- Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills, in addition to time management skills and the ability to work to production schedules
- Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environment
- Possess positive communication skills
- A current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience (advantageous)
- Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening
