Lead Psychologist - Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder Clinical TrialFull-time 2-year fixed-term opportunity to join the InsideOut Institute for Eating Disorders, with flexible work arrangementsDynamic opportunity for a Lead Psychologist to work within a close-knit, collaborative and patient-driven Clinical Trial environmentBase Salary $108,557 - $118,267 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe InsideOut Institute has a phenomenal opportunity for a Psychologist to act as a Clinical Lead within their Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder Clinical Trial. In this role, you will be working in the forefront of the trial, focused on the prevention of eating disorders by focusing on innovative and creative patient-centred care. You will be part of a cutting-edge clinical trial targeting Bulimia Nervosa (BN) and Binge Eating Disorder (BED) run by the Australian Eating Disorder Research and Translation Centre. The role will be a combination of face-to-face interactions with clients in clinical practice alongside the opportunity lead and mentor clinicians in delivering evidence-based treatment.As part of this role, you will lead a dynamic and multidisciplinary team of psychologists and have the opportunity to work with clinicians, academic researchers, and national experts. This is a fantastic opportunity to build strong professional networks, expand your clinical expertise, and contribute to world-leading research in the field of eating disorders, including:Professor Sarah MaguireProfessor Leah BrennanThis role is ideal for a clinician with a passion for innovation in mental health, who is ready to step into a leadership role, contribute to impactful research, and grow their career through new partnerships and national collaboration.Your key responsibilities will be to:Lead the clinical delivery of the trial, overseeing therapy implementation across all trial conditions, including staff training, clinical readiness, treatment fidelity, supervision and support, and reporting to study committees and investigators.Deliver high-quality psychological therapy to trial participants as the primary treating clinician, ensuring adherence to ethical and clinical research standards while maintaining participant safety, engagement, and treatment integrity.Supervise and support a team of clinicians, guiding them in delivering patient-centred care in accordance with the trial protocol and treatment manual, and ensuring consistent, evidence-based practice across the trial sites.Collaborate closely with research and clinical teams, contributing clinical insights to inform shared decision-making, discussing participant progress and risk in supervision and research meetings, and supporting the alignment of therapeutic delivery with research objectives.Oversee the collection and management of clinical data, ensuring accurate documentation of therapy sessions, compliance with data protection regulations, and high-quality data to support trial outcomes and analysis.Contribute to the innovation and impact of the trial, helping test and refine personalised psychological and neurobiological treatment packages for non-rapid responders with BN and BED, and shaping the future of evidence-based care through translational research.About youMaster’s degree in Clinical Psychology.Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with demonstrated excellence in delivering evidence-based psychological therapies and mental health assessments across a range of clinical presentations, including eating disorders.Proven experience in the delivery of mental health and/or substance use interventions within clinical trial settings, with working knowledge of evidence-based healthcare, research principles, and ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulatory requirements.Significant clinical experience in the treatment of eating disorders (including BN and BED), across different service settings and age groups, using diverse treatment modalities.Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, clinicians, researchers, and external partners in both clinical and research contexts.Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to apply clinical reasoning to complex presentations and contribute to translational research through the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care.Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and uphold clinical and research integrity in a high-compliance environment.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaWork Rights: you must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
