Environmental Sustainability Expert
About the Role:
* This key position requires a seasoned environmental professional to drive best-practice environmental management across construction and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct site inspections, audits, and monitoring to assess and improve environmental performance.
2. Act as the site-based environmental representative ensuring compliance with approvals and regulations.
3. Review and oversee contractor environmental management plans and implementation.
4. Report on incidents, risks, compliance, and contractor performance to project leadership.
5. Promote environmental awareness across teams and contractors.
6. Lead incident response and corrective action processes.
7. Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and positive engagement.
8. Provide expert advice on environmental approvals, specifications, and contractor obligations.
9. Maintain accurate documentation in management systems.
10. Escalate issues and risks to management promptly.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years' experience in site-based environmental advisory roles within infrastructure or renewables.
A strong knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approval frameworks is required along with proven ability to interpret and apply approval conditions and deliver practical risk-based advice.
