Espresso Room is seeking an experienced and values-driven Operations Manager to support and elevate our growing group of cafés across Canberra.
This role works closely with each Store Supervisor, providing leadership, structure, and hands-on support to ensure our standards are upheld and our teams are set up to succeed.
About the Role
As Operations Manager, you will oversee multiple sites and act as a key link between ownership, systems, and store-level leadership. Your focus will be on consistency, people, and performance — ensuring every Espresso Room location operates smoothly, sustainably, and with pride.
You will be supported by our Systems Manager and wider leadership team, and collaboration, delegation, and shared ownership of outcomes are actively encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and improve quality control across all sites (coffee, service, and presentation)
* Support Store Supervisors in their day-to-day leadership and operational duties
* Foster a strong, positive workplace culture aligned with Espresso Room values
* Minimise wastage and drive efficient stock and cost management
* Track performance and work with supervisors to achieve KPI targets
* Assist with training, standards implementation, and continuous improvement
* Act as a calm, solutions-focused presence across the business
About You
* Minimum 4 years barista experience (highly recommended)
* Minimum 2 years café management experience (highly recommended)
* Strong understanding of specialty coffee standards and café operations
* Confident communicator with a supportive, professional leadership style
* Organised, accountable, and comfortable working across multiple sites
* Able to work collaboratively with systems, leadership, and store teams
* Willing and able to apply for required clearances if needed
