Pre-Sales Solution Architect
As a Pre-Sales Solution Architect, you will play a key role in collaborating with sales teams to provide expert advice and guidance on solution features, architectural issues, and implementation considerations. This involves analyzing and evaluating client requirements against our portfolio offerings and architecting those requirements into a competitive solution.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. They will also have a broad understanding of all our solutions, as well as experience in proposal processes, including proposal solution development/design review, design tradeoff decisions, winning theme development, and presentation to the client.
We are looking for someone with a proven record of collaborating with and possibly leading global solution project teams on increasingly complex regional or global support engagements. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated ability to interact and articulate the benefits of a solution in a manner appropriate for senior IT executives.
The role involves working closely with sales teams to develop and recommend products and services to meet customers' requirements. You will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of our and competitors' products and/or services, and analyzing detailed client business process, software, application, ITO and/or infrastructure requirements (RFPs, RFIs).
You will guide the proposed technical solutions through the Unisys Deal Review Board for approval and lead or support architectural and/or solution reviews. Additionally, you will lead or support strategic planning activities and business case development for client engagements, and architect a solution using appropriate portfolio offerings with design elements that allow integration into the client environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with and advise members of sales teams on solution features, architectural issues, implementation considerations, cost elements, and effort estimates.
* Analyze and evaluate client requirements against our portfolio offerings and architect those requirements into a competitive solution.
* Provide technical input into bid proposals, projects, and technical documents within the sales process, and identify additional sales opportunities with existing customers.
* Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of our and competitors' products and/or services.
* Lead or support architectural and/or solution reviews.
* Guide the proposed technical solutions through the deal review board for approval.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in an IT-related major or equivalent experience and 8-10 years of relevant work experience in the IT service industry, pre-sales architect experience preferred.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong knowledge of prevailing industry standards such as TOGAF, ITIL, ISO Standards, Zachman, etc.
* Broad understanding of all our solutions.
* Proven record of collaborating with and possibly leading global solution project teams on increasingly complex regional or global support engagements.
* Experience in proposal processes including proposal solution development/design review, design tradeoff decisions, winning theme development, and presentation to the client.
* Demonstrated ability to interact and articulate the benefits of a solution in a manner appropriate for senior IT executives.
* Experience developing cost/benefit analysis and determining the risk associated with a given solution.
* Expertise in three or more of the solution areas listed below: server operating systems, database/information management, networks, security, end-user technology, digital workplace services, virtualization, infrastructure and device monitoring, mobility solutions, application platforms, and application integration.
