The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced commercial leader to oversee the management of a concession deed and its commitments. Leading a small team, you will interpret obligations, provide internal advisory support and build Government relationships to strengthen governance, support growth initiatives and achieve collaborative outcomes that enhance community impact.
Key responsibilities include:
* Team leadership: Manage a small team of contract advisors, fostering alignment, knowledge sharing, critical analysis and high-quality advisory outcomes.
* Contractual interpretation and advisory: Provide clear, practical guidance on the interpretation and application of the Concession Deed across new initiatives and day-to-day operations.
* Judgement-led decision support: Navigate ambiguity and sensitive issues where contractual provisions require nuanced interpretation, balancing risk, compliance and commercial considerations.
* Governance and risk oversight: Strengthen concession governance practices, oversee obligations management tools, and proactively identify and elevate risks.
* Stakeholder partnership: Build strong working relationships across business units and with government counterparts to ensure alignment and informed decision‐making.
* Continuous improvement: Develop practical resources, templates and guidance materials to improve organisational capability and enable efficient operation within the concession framework.

* A successful track record of administering, interpreting and advising on complex legal contracts that administer public‐private partnerships or joint ventures that define scope of responsibilities, performance and obligations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, actionable advice.
* Strong analytical skill, a natural attention to detail and sound judgement in sensitive or ambiguous situations.
* Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence internal and external Government stakeholders.
* Experience leading or mentoring team members within a fast‐paced services-driven environment.
* Tertiary qualifications aligned to legal, commercial or contract management disciplines.
