Your new role
As a Senior Commercial Lawyer specialising in ICT procurement, you will provide expert legal advice on complex commercial law matters. Your role will involve:
* Legal Advisory: Delivering precise and practical legal advice on ICT procurement.
* Contract Management: Reviewing and drafting complex contracts, including software agreements, intellectual property provisions, non-disclosure agreements, and probity matters.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Support Role : Assisting the Principal Lawyer with a variety of legal matters, including deeds of variation, assignment, and novation, as well as trademark licences.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-admission experience in government legal practice.
* Specialisation: Strong background in ICT procurement would be ideal. However, general commercial law is expected.
* Communication: Ability to simplify complex legal concepts and present them clearly.
* Interpersonal Skills: Excellent at building relationships and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
* Eligibility: Must be an Australian citizen, able to hold a Baseline security clearance, and able to transfer between departments under section 26.
