About The Team
Utilities Asset Planning and Management team is part of the Infrastructure Lifecycle, Planning and Performance branch of Infrastructure Gold Coast. The branch is responsible as the asset custodian for the development of the City's Local Government Infrastructure Plans (LGIP), network planning, new/upgrade infrastructure programs (including 10-year capital works programs), asset management planning, asset condition assessments and inspection programs, identifying renewal scope for delivery by Infrastructure Delivery, manage Councillor requests associated with infrastructure for the city's water, sewerage, and stormwater infrastructure.

You'll join a dynamic team comprising of seven individuals with diverse background. Each team member brings a unique expertise fostering a culture of innovation and creativity allowing for a comprehensive approach to problem-solving and a wide range of insights. About Your New Role
We're seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to help drive sustainable city growth Use your hydraulic modelling expertise to assess and enhance water, recycled water, and sewerage networks—ensuring our infrastructure meets the needs of today and tomorrow.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide hydraulic assessment advice for development applications, ensuring compliance with Council's service standards and infrastructure requirements.
* Review and assess technical reports from developers on water, recycled water, and sewerage network capacity to ensure accuracy and alignment with legislative and planning standards.
* Interpret and apply the Infrastructure Demand Model, incorporating long-term population projections and assessing required infrastructure upgrades to 2071.
* Manage and support projects related to master planning, detailed design, and network modelling to enable sustainable water and sewerage infrastructure growth.
* Assist in developing and implementing strategic models, plans, and frameworks that promote resilient and sustainable urban water management.
* Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, environmental regulations, and Council's strategic objectives.
* Conduct planning investigations and capacity modelling to support informed decision-making on infrastructure and catchment growth.
* Integrate emerging trends in technology, climate change, and community expectations into infrastructure planning.
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and zero harm for staff and the community.
* Undertake other reasonable duties as directed to support team and organisational objectives

We're Looking For People Who Have

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or proven experience and knowledge in planning and modelling for water supply, sewerage and recycled water distribution.
* Drivers License Class C Unrestricted
