Position Profile
The Clinical Nurse isresponsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of high quality, client focussed care. Plans and facilitates client activities in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Provides support and supervision for other staff. Liaises with all members of the health care team, clients and carers. Works with clients resident in the Acute Psychiatric Unit.
Ideal Candidate
* Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* A minimum of three years' recent experience in an acute psychiatric setting.
* Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
* Advanced clinical skills and knowledge in mental health nursing, including the Mental Health Act 2014.
* Proven ability to implement and evaluate nursing policies and standards relevant to mental health practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
* Coordinate ward activities including admissions, discharge planning, and patient flow management.
* Provide clinical expertise in the implementation of treatment programmes and support for patients' families and carers.
* Maintain effective communication with all health care team members, ensuring adherence to legal and service policies.
* Mentor and supervise nursing staff, contributing to their professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
