The Role
Join our team as an Education Assistant – Special Needs and support the Department's objective of teaching and learning for students with special needs. You may assist in the implementation of specialised education programs such as occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy, helping to ensure that students receive the best possible education.
You will work closely with teachers to deliver planned education programs, including the use of computers and digital technologies, and will ideally be responsible for implementing individual student or small group programs or demonstrations. Additionally, you should provide feedback on education and therapy programs and will participate in the evaluation process.
Responsibilities
Assist in the delivery and evaluation of specialised education and therapy programs for students with special needs.
Qualifications and Eligibility
* Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Valid Working With Children Check before starting.

o Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs.
o Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, where required, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
o Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
o Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well‐being of students.
