Assistant Commissioner's Office - Business Coordination Officer

Full-time Temporary

Details: The Emergency Services Agency (ESA) is seeking applications from motivated, experienced, and suitable individuals to perform the role of Business Coordination Officer across the ESA's three Assistant Commissioner portfolio areas of:

* Corporate
* Capability
* Emergency Management and Collaboration

Reporting to the Executive Officer, the Business Coordination Officer will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing correspondence to the three Executive Office's in relation to finance, human resources and other government business such as Cabinet, Assembly and Ministerial. The Business Coordination Officer will provide consistent and timely responses and manage systems to track and report on work across the portfolios to support the achievement of strategic and operational objectives.

This role will also support the critical administration of the three Assistant Commissioner's for example quality assure briefs, complete financial management tasks such as processing invoices, reimbursement claims and acquittals. You will require an attention to detail to flag urgent tasks with the respective Assistant Commissioner to ensure compliance with respective policies and legislation. As a key conduit between the Assistant Commissioner and the four operational services, you will have excellent communication and coordination skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals in a fast paced and high-pressure environment.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

* To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
* If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.
* Driver's licence Class C is essential.
* This position does not require a pre-employment medical
* This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately up until 23 April 2027. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. The successful applicant may be required to work outside of normal hours in response to attend meetings or in support of operations. Additional hours worked will be remunerated in accordance with the relevant enterprise agreement.
