Job Overview
We are hiring a highly skilled Underground Drill and Blast Engineer to join our team at KCGM Operations in Kalgoorlie.
The successful candidate will be responsible for generating, scheduling, and implementing short-term drilling, blasting, and ancillary mine plans to achieve operational targets safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, schedule, and implement short-term drilling, blasting, and ancillary mine plans to meet operational targets securely and productively.
* Collaborate with the Scheduling Engineer to ensure production plans align with weekly and monthly objectives.
* Inspect and assess underground production areas, liaising with survey and geology departments to generate production plans and provide technical support to supervisors and crew members.
* Manage daily and weekly data for reporting purposes, monitor blast vibration, and provide technical input into large-scale production plans.
Requirements:
* Relevant experience in underground engineering and operations.
* Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Proficiency in mine design software, preferably Deswik.
* Experience in production engineering with exposure to underground ventilation.
* Western Australian Underground Supervisors Certificate of competency or ability to attain.
* Dangerous Goods Security Card or proof of application.
* Residency in the Goldfields region or willingness to relocate.
* Unencumbered Western Australian 'C' Class Drivers Licence.
