If this sounds like you, come and join us! Vocus is seeking a Senior RAN Engineer to join our high‑performing Engineering team in Abbotsford offices. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering fixed and wireless engineering solutions across our existing and next‑generation communication networks. As a Senior RAN Engineer, you will play a key role in the end‑to‑end design, planning, deployment, and optimisation of radio and microwave networks—from concept through to commissioning. You’ll work closely with the RAN Manager/Team Lead and collaborate across engineering, transmission, and core network teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and future readiness of Vocus’s wireless infrastructure. What You’ll Be Doing

Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineering Deploy, maintain, and optimise the RAN to ensure high availability and exceptional performance. Integrate and configure eNBs and gNBs across 4G and 5G technologies. Monitor radio KPIs, perform audits, analyse performance trends, and recommend parameter changes. Conduct drive testing and provide detailed RF analysis and reporting. Troubleshoot RAN‑related issues and support service restoration activities. Network Planning & Design Perform detailed RF planning including coverage, capacity, and interference analysis. Conduct spectrum planning, link budgeting, and site selection across diverse environments. Ensure seamless integration of new macro, micro, and small cell sites with transmission and core networks. Microwave Transmission Plan and design microwave (MW) links including path and frequency planning. Perform on‑site antenna alignment, acceptance testing, and MW performance optimisation. Monitor MW KPIs and ensure all transmission paths meet operational standards. Prepare link budget documentation and coordinate with vendors and field teams. Monitor real‑time network analytics and KPIs to maintain peak network performance. Implement optimisation strategies to improve user experience and network efficiency. Manage capacity upgrades as traffic and user demands evolve. Support technology uplift programs (4G, 5G NSA/SA, and future technologies). Contribute to testing and adoption of next‑gen radio technologies such as: Massive MIMO Open RAN Ensure Vocus remains at the forefront of wireless engineering standards and best practice. What You’ll Bring to the role

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, or related discipline. 3+ years’ experience in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of LTE/RAN equipment. Proven experience using RF drive test tools such as TEMS or Nemo. Experience with RF planning tools including: ATDI HTZ Strong technical capability in RF system support, troubleshooting, and optimisation. Ability to work collaboratively across technical, field, vendor, and project teams. Strong documentation, analytical and problem‑solving skills. What We Offer
