Purpose:
This role will provide maintenance services to support our GeoScience project located in the Central and Eastern Pilbara region.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the fleet of HME and Ancillary mechanical equipment used in mining operations. This role requires ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of all maintenance work required, adhering to strict safety protocols, and minimising equipment downtime to optimise site productivity.
Duties will include performing planned and breakdown maintenance tasks to all Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME), light vehicle (LV) and ancillary equipment as directed. Tasks will consist of safety and mechanical inspections, preventative maintenance and breakdown service. All works are to be completed in a manner that is compliant with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) maintenance and repair guidelines, and procedures as directed within defined maintenance systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine maintenance, and repairs on all fleet of HME and Ancillary mechanical equipment used in the mining operation.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot faults and issues with pneumatic, hydraulic and steering and braking systems.
* Carry out testing and commissioning of mechanical components after installation or repair.
* Maintain detailed records of fault diagnosis and repair activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
* Accountable for the efficient preparation and execution of defect identification, lubrication servicing and completion of all maintenance activities
* Execution of planned maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance schedules and inspection activities.
Experience, Qualifications & Skills Required:
* Trade Certification – Heavy Diesel Mechanical
* 2+ years' in a discipline associated with maintenance in a mining environment
* Demonstrated successful maintenance of an extensive range of HME, LV and ancillary equipment
* Proven track record in diagnosing and repairing complex hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical faults in mobile equipment.
* Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical component replacement, testing, and commissioning procedures
* Knowledge of light vehicles, HME and ancillary mining equipment
* Demonstrated ability to obtain and interpret OEM operations, technical, maintenance manuals and other supplementary publications
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of Asset Management principles and standards
* Physically mobile with a good fitness level
* Flexible and versatile attitude, Agile and adaptable to enable a quick and accurate response to issues as they arise
Additional Requirements:
* Auto Airconditioning accreditation, HR License, High Risk tickets, other mechanical aid operations tickets as required for the position
* Current Australian C Class Driver's Licence (HR preferred).
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screen
* Ability to complete online inductions and provide two recent contactable references.
* Hold, or willing to obtain a National Police Clearance valid within 12 months
* Full Australian Work Rights
* CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (Construction "White card")
Desirable qualifications:
* Current MRL, RTIO and/or BHP Inductions
* 4WD/Defensive Driving (such as RIIVEH305F: Operate and Maintain a 4WD Vehicle, RIIVEH201E: Operate a Light Vehicle)
* TLIC1051 – Operate commercial vehicle
* HLTAID011 – Provide first aid
* CPPFES2005 – Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment
* RIIWHS204E – Work safely at heights
* RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces
* MSMWHS217 – Gas test atmospheres
