External Relations Advisor
Contract Duration: October 5 to December 6

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced External Relations Advisor to support the delivery of major strategic infrastructure projects.
This role is critical in navigating complex regulatory environments and securing statutory approvals across all phases of the project lifecycle.
As a key interface between internal teams and external stakeholders, you will lead strategic engagement with Commonwealth and State Government agencies, ensuring alignment, compliance, and transparency throughout the approvals process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engagement with Commonwealth and State Government agencies.
- Manage end-to-end approvals processes across design, delivery, and pre-operational phases.
- Provide expert advice on approvals schedules, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic planning.
- Align internal priorities with external regulatory requirements and obligations.
- Coordinate technical inputs from legal, consultant, and internal teams to support timely approvals.
- Develop and enhance reporting tools and systems to track approvals progress.
- Maintain strong relationships with government officials and regulatory bodies at all levels.
- Advocate for project outcomes through strategic communications and regulatory guidance.
Qualifications & Experience
- In-depth understanding of government approvals frameworks for major infrastructure or port projects, including maritime obligations.
- Proven experience navigating federal and state approvals systems and working with regulatory bodies.
- Background in external or government relations with a compliance or policy focus.
- Strong project management and coordination skills across complex stakeholder groups.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver regulatory strategy and maintain continuity across large-scale infrastructure projects.
