You must hold an undergraduate qualification or postgraduate qualification in Librarianship/Information Management with eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.The Information Librarian works within the Creative and Engaged City Department at the Keysborough Community Hub and both libraries at Springvale and Dandenong.The role's key responsibilities include providing effective and efficient library and information services to all Library users and our diverse community.
Additional responsibilities include supervising the front of house Library Services team to provide a responsive and flexible service, supporting and delivering high-quality library programs to promote learning, literacy, reading and social inclusion, and supporting collection maintenance and development activities.About youThe successful applicant will have demonstrated knowledge of information service provision to people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, experience in staff supervision in a library environment, experience in conducting staff and/or public training programs, be a committed, considerate, and pro-active team member, and have a passion for supporting and engaging with the community.You will be flexible and willing to support the team including on evening and weekend shifts across our locations.You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.The successful candidate will be asked to produce a explicit Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an 'international criminal history check'), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
