About the Role

Join the Department of Education Student Wellbeing Workforce and make a real difference by supporting school teams to assist students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. This senior psychologist role is part of a workforce ensuring every Queensland state school student has access to a wellbeing professional.

This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact on students and school communities by delivering evidence‐based psychology services and combining clinical expertise with leadership and collaboration in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Support children and students to access and fully participate in learning, ensuring delivery of evidence‐based psychology services within schools in your region.
* Provide psychology services directly to schools in specific or specialised areas of practice or in response to complex school needs.
* Offer professional supervision, leadership, and support to school psychologists within the region to develop their capability and clinical skills.
* Drive service improvement by evaluating procedures, providing expert advice, and contributing to evidence‐based practices.
Responsibilities Include
* Assess psychological requirements and identify appropriate responses and interventions to support the mental health and wellbeing of students, undertaking individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions requiring specialised psychological practice with students, parents and families.
* Provide leadership, plan clinical supervision and deliver professional development to psychologists in collaboration with regional and school management teams, promoting safe, effective, high‐quality psychology services.
* Maintain effective communication and collaboration networks with other school‐based professionals including Guidance Officers, other agencies and stakeholders such as government departments and professional bodies to ensure coordinated provision of services to students, parents and families.
* Support delivery and continual improvement of psychology services in schools by reviewing policies, operational standards and procedures, evaluating service provision and programmes, and providing advice and recommendations to the Senior Advisor, Psychology about alternative models of delivery and resourcing.
About You
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of school and multi‐disciplinary teams.
* Clinical, reasoning and communication skills for working with young people, their families and stakeholders.
* Interest in supporting teams, including psychologists and other mental‐health clinicians, through leadership, clinical supervision and professional development.
