Overview
Staff Specialist Clinician SMO1.1 - SMO1.6 – Remuneration Package Range $249,959 - $305,454 (including salary $213,380 - $261,100); Senior Staff Specialist Clinician SMO2.1 - SMO2.3 – Remuneration Package Range $315,843 - $349,187 (including salary $270,033 - $298,705). Surgery and Critical Care. Darwin, Palmerston – Northern Territory. One full time vacancy, fixed for 3 years is available.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and direction to the Territory's Neurosurgery team at Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital.
* Lead the Department of Neurosurgery, including human resource management, supervision of medical staff and departmental performance.
* Participate as a member of a senior management team and support divisional clinical governance, operations and strategic program implementation.
* Manage patient flow and demand management strategies, safety and quality, clinical audit and review, staff mentoring and training, and lead a culture of high-performing teams.
* Foster partnerships between healthcare providers and lead continuous quality improvement activities to enhance capacity for multi-disciplinary care and contribute to NT Health clinical leadership.
Qualifications
* Eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Current Fellowship of a relevant Medical College.
* Recognition as a professional leader in the provision of Neurosurgery services.
* Track record in the pursuit of clinical excellence.
* Effective leadership, interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to equity of access to quality health care and participation in continuing education, teaching and research.
* Ability to maximise clinical activity throughput in Operating Theatres, Outpatients and Outreach.
Remuneration and Benefits
Remuneration package includes 12% superannuation, six weeks recreational and three weeks personal leave, 10 days professional development leave, 17.5% annual leave loading and the potential Private Practice Allowance of up to 50% of base pay for AHPRA registered Specialists.
