We're seeking a strategic and results-driven Program Director to lead one of the Department's largest business transformation initiatives – the Portfolio and Financial Management Improvement (PFMI) Program.
This is a high-impact role where you'll shape governance, financial management, and portfolio performance practices across Queensland's education infrastructure.
You'll be part of a forward-thinking division responsible for managing a $40 billion asset base and delivering a $2 billion annual capital works program.
This program is critical to uplifting infrastructure management maturity and ensuring long-term success.
Your key responsibilities include: Providing strategic leadership and vision for the PFMI Program, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
Overseeing delivery of multiple interrelated projects, including portfolio governance, P3O model establishment, and capital financial management improvements.
Driving change management strategies and organisational readiness for program outcomes.
Managing program governance, risk, and financial performance to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.
Leading and mentoring a high-performing team of project managers, analysts, and subject matter experts.
About You: You're an experienced senior leader with a proven track record in delivering complex programs within large organisations.
You bring strong strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement skills, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
You'll bring: Extensive experience in infrastructure portfolio/program/project management or capital financial management.
Demonstrated success in leading business transformation programs.
Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire teams and drive accountability.
Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels.
Experience in government or large-scale infrastructure environments (highly regarded).
