Your contribution:
As Executive Officer for the Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling you will lead and provide high-level, timely executive and administrative services in a fast-paced, high-volume branch that impacts all Queenslanders. Working closely with the Executive Director and Senior Management Team, the Executive Officer ensures the branch operates efficiently and effectively, enabling the branch to deliver high-quality services, programs, policies and corporate objectives in alignment with the priorities and policies of the Queensland Government.

About you:
Able to:
• Demonstrate high-level problem-solving skills, including the ability to proactively analyse situations and identify and successfully implement practical and innovative strategic and operational solutions.
• Demonstrate high-level communication, liaison, and negotiation skills in providing information and advice to senior management and engaging with internal stakeholders and partners, and high-level written communication skills for the preparation of complex and sensitive materials.
• Experience managing teams, including workload prioritisation and allocation, operating successfully under pressure within required timeframes, providing peer review and feedback and managing performance.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated high-level knowledge and understanding of human resources, executive government processes including public sector accountabilities, Cabinet, Parliament, and other government reporting with the ability to perform this function for the branch.
• Demonstrate how you can support our commitment to workplace safety, equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.
• You will need the legal right to work in Australia.
